Editorial Policy
Last updated: April 19, 2026
Decentralized Finance is an editorial media brand. Our mission is to produce rigorous, impartial, and accessible research on DeFi protocols, blockchain ecosystems, stablecoins, and the broader crypto market. This policy sets out the standards we hold ourselves to and the processes we follow to maintain editorial integrity.
1. Editorial Independence
Decentralized Finance is operated by Elite Digital Solutions Limited. This is a free, independent editorial resource. We carry no advertising and accept no sponsored content. Editorial decisions — including what to cover, how to frame it, and what conclusions to draw — are made solely by our editorial and research staff, free from any commercial or investor pressure.
The following principles are non-negotiable:
- We do not accept payment to change, soften, or remove negative editorial coverage of any protocol, project, or company.
- Advertisers have no editorial influence over our research conclusions, protocol ratings, or analytical framing.
- Sponsored content is always clearly labelled and separated from independent editorial coverage.
- We do not publish content promoting token sales, initial coin offerings (ICOs), or unverified investment opportunities.
- Protocol data is sourced from independently verifiable on-chain sources and third-party data providers.
- Authors disclose material conflicts of interest where they exist, including personal holdings in protocols they cover.
2. Content Categories
We publish four primary types of content, each with distinct editorial standards:
Protocol Research
In-depth overviews of DeFi protocols covering architecture, tokenomics, governance, use cases, and competitive positioning. These are produced by our research team, verified against on-chain data, and reviewed for factual accuracy before publication. Protocol research is not paid coverage.
Ecosystem Analysis
Deep-dive coverage of blockchain ecosystems including Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks. Analysis covers TVL, developer activity, protocol diversity, and adoption metrics sourced from third-party data aggregators.
Stablecoin Research
Analytical coverage of stablecoin mechanisms, market data, collateral structures, and regulatory developments. Market data is sourced from DeFiLlama and is presented with clear data source attribution. Supply figures are labelled as approximate where exact real-time data is unavailable.
News Coverage
Breaking news and market developments sourced from recognised industry publications including CoinDesk, Decrypt, The Block, and similar credible outlets. News articles cite source material and are clearly distinguished from editorial research content.
3. Data Sources and Attribution
We rely on the following primary data sources and always attribute them explicitly in our content:
- DeFiLlama — TVL, stablecoin market cap, protocol statistics
- CoinGecko / CoinMarketCap — Token price data and market cap rankings
- On-chain block explorers — Etherscan, Arbiscan, Basescan for transaction and contract data
- Official protocol documentation — Whitepapers, governance forums, and developer documentation
- Recognised news publications — CoinDesk, Decrypt, The Block, TradingView News for breaking coverage
We do not publish unverified claims, anonymous tips, or speculative information without clear disclosure.
4. Accuracy and Fact-Checking
All research and analytical content is reviewed for factual accuracy before publication. For protocol and stablecoin research, key data points — including TVL, circulating supply, and governance parameters — are cross-referenced against at least two independent sources where possible.
Market data can change rapidly. All data panels on our site include a "Source" attribution and, where figures are approximate or reflect a snapshot in time, this is clearly indicated. Readers should always verify market data against live sources before making any decisions.
5. Corrections Policy
We are committed to correcting factual errors promptly and transparently. If an error is identified in published content, we will:
- Update the article with the corrected information as quickly as possible
- Add a correction notice at the top or bottom of the article noting what was changed and when
- Not silently edit or delete factually incorrect content without notice
To report an error, contact: editorial@decentralized-finance.io
6. Conflicts of Interest
Members of our editorial and research team are required to disclose any material financial interests in protocols, tokens, or companies they write about. Where a conflict exists, it will be noted at the bottom of the relevant article.
Editorial staff are prohibited from trading tokens in protocols they are actively covering for a period of at least 72 hours before and after publication.
